BOOTS AND ROSES
by Myla Jackson

Welcome back to the Ugly Stick Saloon!

Blurb

Bunny Leigh really shouldn’t care that her ex is days away from getting remarried. Yet the fact he’s getting hitched to the woman he cheated on her with stings more than she cares to admit.

It’s that sting that drives her to impulsively throw a bid in the annual Ugly Stick Saloon Cowboy Auction. To her surprise, she lands not only one of the best-looking men in the tri-county area, but two. The prospect of keeping up with two younger men has the shy florist quaking in her flower pots.

Little does she know, best friends Cory McBride and Jack Monahan made doubly sure their favorite florist won them both. But now they have their work cut out for them, convincing her they want more than one steamy night. They want a chance at forever.

Warning: A cop, a cowboy and a flower shop owner make the petals fly! And look what happens when the Ferris wheel stops at the top. Bring a fan, the heat’s rising at the Ugly Stick Saloon.

“So it’s agreed?” Cory leaned back in the booth at PJ’s Diner at ten past eleven o’clock that morning. “The date is set. It’ll be the both of us, and we’ll behave like gentlemen. No expectations of anything afterward?”

Jack sighed. “I had hoped for more. I hadn’t realized just how obsessed I was with her until I counted the number of bud vases in my closets. Do you realize I’ve been in that flower shop once a week for six months? I have twenty-six vases taking up room at the house.”

“Take them back to Bunny. She could use them for your next twenty-six purchases.”

“I can’t do that. Then she’ll know I wasn’t buying them for my mother.”

Cory shook his head. Jack had a heart as big as his shoe size. “Well, don’t think I’m going to let you win her over all to yourself. I’ve been delivering flowers for her for the past three months, even though I don’t need the money.”

“You know? We’re pretty darned pathetic if you ask me. Why the hell have we been beatin’ around the bush when we could have fessed up and been datin’ her all along?”

“I didn’t want to commit to anything until I finished my undergrad degree. And with med school looming, I’m still straddlin’ the fence. She put her ex through dental school. I wouldn’t blame her if she ran screaming from a relationship with me, because I’m going to be gone to school in Dallas all week, every week for four years.”

“Yeah, you got it rough.” Jack’s lips quirked upward on the sides. “Which should make her decision easy. She’ll choose me.”

“Over my dead body. I thought of dating her first.”

“I’ve been courtin’ her in my own way for six months.”

“Buying flowers for your mother?” Cory snorted. “Look, buddy, we’ve already agreed to share Bunny. Stick to the plan. We need to get her used to the idea of having both of us. Which means we need to let her see us separately, get to know each of us individually, and then ease her into the idea of both of us.”

“I’ll take lunch today, since I’m working the night shift,” Jack jumped in.

“Okay. Which means I gotta coax an invite to the Temptation Garden Club meeting tonight.” Cory let out a long breath. “Joy.” He pushed back from the table. “Between now and then, I need to get back to my computer. The stock market is supposed to be falling today. I want to get in on some good stock sales.” He planned on doing just that…after he stopped in the flower shop to see Bunny.

“Yeah. I need to check on some construction supplies for the house.” Jack tossed bills on the table and stood. “Guess I’ll see you later.”

Cory pushed through the door and turned left.

“Hey, isn’t your truck parked over there?” Jack pointed to the right.

With a sigh, Cory realized he wasn’t going to get by with a lie. “I thought I’d stop by and see Bunny first.”

“Not before me, you aren’t.” Jack let go of the door and stepped out smartly, heading straight for the Sweet Temptations Flower Shop.

Cory tore out after him, running to catch up and overtake the big cop. By the time they reached the shop, they were sprinting to the finish line.

Excerpt

With Julie framed in the doorway with nothing but a towel between him and all her beautiful skin, Roger’s mouth had no choice but to go completely dry. And he’d thought she was sexy in her nurse’s uniform. Holy shit, she was hot. He cleared his throat and forced words past his lips. “Nice way to greet a guy.”

“Get in here,” she said, yanking him across the threshold. “I’m running a little behind.”

“That’s fine. Our reservation isn’t until eight. Take your time. In fact…” He snagged her around the middle and pulled her into his arms. “We don’t even have to go to the restaurant. We could call out for pizza or something and stay here.” He nuzzled her neck and nipped at her earlobe. “Umm you smell like flowers. So what’s it to be? Eat out or eat in?” Roger knew his preference and he tasted the main course by trailing kisses across her bare shoulder and downward to the edge of the towel.

Julie arched into him, sliding a naked leg up his chino-clad calf. “Tough decision,” she muttered against the base of his throat where she pressed her lips and tongued the indention. Her leg climbed higher until she’d hooked it around his buttocks. With her arms circled around his neck, she wrapped the other leg around his waist and claimed his lips in a deep-throat kiss, he wasn’t soon to forget.

The ride up his hips raised the towel, exposing her buttocks to his probing hands. Holding her steady, he carried her toward the bedroom, one goal in mind. To sink deep into her special wet place as fast as he could drop his zipper.

SNIPPET SATURDAY - Be My Baby

BOOTS AND CHAPS
an UGLY STICK SALOON story
by Myla Jackson

BLURB

Jackson Gray Wolf is turning thirty, and what does he have to show for it? A ranch. No wife, no kids, no dates. He’s had his eye on the pretty owner of the Ugly Stick Saloon, but their one accidental encounter was interrupted before he could get her out of her take-me-now red cowboy boots.

Audrey Anderson isn’t in the market for a man. Been there, done that, has the scars to prove it. She retired her pole-dancing boots after purchasing the Ugly Stick Saloon, and now manages a stable of strippers. When she winds up one stripper short for a private party, she’s forced to slip on a mask and into the role of the mysterious Kiki.

Jackson didn’t want the birthday bash his twin brothers are throwing him, but his vow to ignore the rented stripper goes awry when she shows him exactly how far she’s willing to go—for all three of them.
Audrey can’t forget the sizzling heat between her and one sexy Kiowa in particular. Jackson. Trouble is, she’s not sure if he wants the bold, brassy Kiki, or if he’s ready for the wounded woman underneath.

Warning: This title contains hot scenes with multiple partners, with a little BDSM on the side. Caution—it could melt your e-reader!

EXCERPT (Jackson  manwoman-handled into stripping at the Ugly Stick)

Jackson groaned. He couldn’t get off the bar or his privates would be so violated he might never sire children. All he could do was wait out the storm and hope the women got bored and left soon.

Mark and Luke swayed to the music, flexing their muscles and grinding their hips.

Cries rose from the ladies, and they shouted, “More!”

At the back of the crowd a glimpse of strawberry-blonde hair caught Jackson’s eye like a ray of hope in a stormy sky. Was it…?

A woman made a grab for the red boot he held in front of his dick and jerked it out of his hand. “We want to see.”

Jackson lunged for the boot, falling into the crowd. Like a rock star at a concert, they moved him above their heads, touching, feeling and fondling all the way.

He spotted the red boot on the floor near someone’s feet, and he rolled to the side, disrupting the chain of hands. He dropped to the floor, lunged for the boot, and it was whisked out of sight before he could get his hands on it. He straightened, his gaze climbing the denim-clad legs to face off with Greta Sue, the female bouncer. In her hand, she held the boot. “Looking for this?”

Jackson smiled and winced as the woman behind him reached between his legs and squeezed his scrotum.
Greta Sue glared at the woman. “Back off, bitch.”

The woman let go of Jackson’s balls and stepped back.

Straightening to his full height, Jackson squared off with Greta Sue. “Yes. I was looking for that.”

She inspected the boot. “Not your size.”

A hand snaked out from behind Greta Sue and plucked the boot from her fingers. “No, but it’s mine.” Audrey’s voice carried over the roar of the crowd.

Jackson’s heart thundered against his ribs. This was not the way he envisioned this meeting would go. He fought the urge to fig-leaf his hand over his penis. She’d seen it all, touched it and fucked it. That last thought put life into his limp dick. Ah, hell, the more he tried not to think about all they’d done, the more he did and the bigger his cock swelled.

Several women standing nearby gasped.

One touched her throat and cried, “Oh, my.” Fingers stretched out to touch his member.

Greta Sue blocked her hand. “Don’t touch the merchandise.”

Jackson grinned at her. “Thanks.”

“Thanks, nothing. I want a clear view, not some skanky female’s hands all over, blocking that masterpiece.”
“Greta Sue,” Audrey said in a quiet, authoritative voice. “I’ll take it from here.”

Greta Sue grunted. “I just bet you will.” The big woman moved to the side, clearing the path between Audrey and Jackson.

Audrey’s brows rose, her gaze skimming him from head to foot. “Lose something?”

He shrugged, forcing a nonchalance he didn’t feel standing naked in front of a hundred drooling women. “More like I found something.”
